Customer Review:
Browsing through this book of sketches is like reading Bourgeois' personal diary. These drawings seem to be the ones she made only for herself, to figure things out and generate more ideas. This is not her "finished" work, so don't expect "LB's Greatest Hits", but any true fan of this artist will... more info

Customer Review:
The author of this "essay"--her word--on Louise Bourgeois' "Spider" admits to suffering from a "major dissatisfaction with much...art-writing," and proposes, from her special vantage "as a literary specialist trained in close reading" to offer something more "exciting" for the reader's... more info

Customer Review:
Similar to the Madaras books, with a copy each for girls and boys, but doesn't quite live up to the legacy. Includes transparent plastic overlays at several points to illustrate changes, but the overlays seem more like a gimmic than a useful tool. Generally good layout, with an attractive mix of... more info

Customer Review:
This is a gem. A distillation of Bourgeois' philosophy and work which is essential reading for any artist today. All of the books in this series on Women Artists are wonderful. They get right to the point of the work and words of each artist not underestimating the importance of each in her time.

Customer Review:
This is a collection of three of playwright Arthur Miller's short stories. The stories all take place in New York--before, during, and after WWII. I did not enjoy the title story "Homely Girl, a Life." I found it overly simplistic and offensive overall, although there were passages of beautiful... more info
